so i bought a book today called “manifesto of real democracy: the guide to liberty, eqaulity - and survival”.
it’s good…but i can’t find a damn thing about it on the internet. in this day & age, that’s probably not a good sign…i can’t even find anything about the author “Brent Larson”. so i have taken to reading the book SLOWLY and with wikipedia by my side.
i bought it from the above website’s store, and the only other proof this book exists is because another independent bookstore in toronto, fertile ground, carries it.
the book is still good, but i don’t want to just trust it blindly.
so far, what i’ve gleamed is that he considers three types of oligarchies (fuedalism, monarchys and republics) as “ruling of the few” which are always opposed to democracy and that the democracy we have today is nothing but a reworked version of the roman republic. i’ve started to read a bit about the idea of global feudalism - that “fiefs" (basically agricultural land traded among lords) exist as "sectors of the global economy" and "lords" are now those who own big buisnesses.
i agree that the idea of “we, the people” is a fraud - it’s pretty obvious that an elite group of people run the country/world. i am interested in reading on to see how he explains “real democracy” works. can people really rule themselves? it’s like the idea of a “free market” - sounds good on paper, but how do you suggest it be put into real actual action? & with all these global disasters (economic, environmental, swine flu etc) looming on our doorstep, i think its probably pretty important someone comes up with a workable solution. =/ either that, or God will need to intervene in a major way…
SP, J & I were up late one night discussing science, religion & art… the topic shifted to scientology and i remembered reading this website a few years ago about scientology kids who had gotten away from the religion and started a website. they post stories of anyone who wants to come forward, and tell their story.
after some intensive googling (J said she heard they pay google to have only POSITIVE scientology websites pop-up when searching; so i’m also a little wary of posting too much of what i think LOL what if the internet police shut me downz!), i found the site.
